Make Room Announces Grand Opening of New Gallery Space in Hollywood

Los Angeles, C A - Make Room, a contemporary art gallery established in 2018, owned and directed by Emilia Yin, is excited to announce the opening of its brand new gallery space at 6361 Waring Ave, where it will join neighbors Marian Goodman, Jeffrey Deitch, and the rest of the growing gallery community in the heart of Hollywood. Make Room, which has grown rapidly over the past few years with its strong artist program and network, will open the new 4500 square foot space during the highly anticipated Frieze Los Angeles Art Week with two solo exhibitions by Mexican painter Yoab Vera and Chinese-born, New York-based artist Yesiyu Zhao.

With a wooden bow truss roof, multiple exhibition spaces, and an outdoor courtyard for gathering, the new building will allow the gallery to expand its program and experiment with new kinds of exhibition formats. Make Room prides itself on providing a thoughtful space where a new generation of collectors

and institutions are given the opportunity to support the vanguard of contemporary art. The new space will facilitate the gallery's dynamic program, which includes both solo and group exhibitions as well as an on-site artist residency program.

Since its founding in 2018, Make Room has established a reputation as a cutting-edge incubator for diverse voices in contemporary art, promoting the work of emerging artists who engage with cultural identity from a conceptually rigorous, global perspective. Its relationships with established collectors and institutions, both locally and internationally, have resulted in placements in major private and institutional collections.

"The opening of this location marks a new chapter and milestone for Make Room as we embark on a thrilling journey of expansion and growth within Los Angeles' vibrant art scene while fostering a stronger relationship with Asia," said owner Emilia Yin "We are beyond excited to have the opportunity to deepen our support for our artists and strengthen our connection with our community, as we continue

to push the boundaries and inspire dialogues through various programming."

The grand opening of Make Room's new Hollywood space will take place during Frieze Los Angeles Art Week on Friday, February 17, from 5-9 PM, with a Chinese Lion Dance performance at 7 PM.
